The patient, a musician, was criticized by his friends and had the nickname Captain Forehead because his forehead was so large. This bothered him enough to bring him to a hair transplant narrowing his forehead considerably. His hairline was moved 1 ½ inches down and his temples were moved forward. Now he is comfortable with his appearance and has "made it" in the music business with his first 6 figure contract. Doctor Comment: Listened to what the patient wants and worked with him. This patient knew exactly what he wanted and what he wanted was different than what we normally did. His lower hairline and the aggressive approach to his temples was paramount to his goals. As we worked incrementally in that direction, we both became more comfortable with this aggressive approach and eventually achieved very high densities in the frontal area. The number of grafts in the frontal hairline in this patient is equal to what we normally do in patients who are very bald. His desire to have a very high density was tied closely to his self image, particularly with regard to his musical career.
